BLAST, in partnership with the Esports Association of Hong Kong, China and supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, has announced that BLAST Premier Rivals will take place in the region.
The Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament is set to be Hong Kong’s largest-ever esports event and the first to receive the prestigious “M” Mark from the Major Sports Events Committee of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The Mark recognises sporting events that enhance Hong Kong’s global image, and the inclusion of BLAST Premier Rivals is a major step forward for the city’s esports ambitions.
Part of the newly revamped BLAST Premier 2025 circuit, the tournament will feature eight elite teams from around the world, including four from the Valve Regional Standings and four from Europe, North America, South America and Asia. A $1 million prize pool will be up for grabs (following a recent standard in esports), with the event broadcast spanning over 30 languages across 100+ territories.
“We are incredibly proud to bring the BLAST Premier Rivals to Hong Kong and make history in the process, as the first esports event to receive ‘M’ Mark recognition,” said James Woollard, BLAST’s Director of Market Development. “This event will combine world-class competition, state-of-the-art production and a uniquely local cultural experience.”
Mr George Tsoi, Commissioner for Sports and Culture at the local government’s Sports and Tourism Bureau, said: “It is an honor to witness Hong Kong hosting its first international esports tournament… BLAST Premier Hong Kong Rivals 2025 marks a milestone in our journey.”
Ryan Chow, Chairman of the Esports Association of Hong Kong, added: “We hope that through this grand event, we can enhance Hong Kong’s competitiveness in the international market… and elevate Hong Kong’s status in the global esports scene.”
The announcement comes as Chinese teams Tyloo and Lynn Vision compete at the BLAST.tv Major 2025 in Austin, Texas, reflecting Asia’s rising presence in the global Counter-Strike scene.
The tournament will take place at the AsiaWorld-Arena from November 12–16, 2025.
