BLAST has officially expanded into the United States, marking a key milestone in the company’s ongoing North American expansion. The new hub in New York signals a major commitment to the US esports market, where BLAST plans to host more events, content production, and strategic partnerships.
With the US esports industry valued at over $1.3 billion and more than $10 million in prize pools awarded through domestic tournaments this year alone, the country remains a dominant force in global competitive gaming. In 2025, the States are set to host more tier 1 esports arena events than any other nation, including upcoming BLAST events such as the FNCS Pro-Am in Los Angeles, the BLAST.tv Austin Major, and the RLCS Raleigh Major.
The New York office will act as BLAST’s North American base, enabling the company to strengthen its relationships with American publishers, brands, creators, and talent agencies. Plans include producing original content, expanding streaming and live event offerings, and developing branded integrations.
Chief Business Officer Leo Matlock will relocate from Copenhagen to lead the US operation, overseeing regional growth, team development, and partner engagement.
Matlock said of the US launch: “We’ve been deeply committed to the growth of esports in the U.S. for six years – hosting some of our most iconic live events here since 2019. Establishing a permanent hub here is a natural next step and also a powerful indicator of our long-term investment in the market. This move further adds to our global expansion efforts in 2025, with offices opening in India and the U.S. this year.”
The New York launch expands BLAST’s global footprint, which includes offices in Copenhagen, London, Berlin, and soon, India.
