A new large-scale Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament series is set to debut this summer with Global Domination: Invasion, offering a $1 million prize pool and aiming to attract both amateur and professional players from around the world.
Organized by esports group Ultimate Gaming Championship (UGC) and live event producers Andy Horne and Brian Crouch, the event will culminate in a three-day championship at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center from August 29–31, 2025. The finale is expected to draw an audience of 10,000 fans and will feature live performances from currently unnamed music acts.
The tournament is notable for its open-entry format, welcoming players of all skill levels with no requirement for prior rankings, league affiliations, or team registrations. Single entrants will be matched with teammates, and players will be sorted into Gold, Silver, or Bronze tiers based on their Steam statistics during the group stage. This tiered structure is designed to ensure competitive balance, with opportunities to move up based on performance.
Global Domination: Invasion includes both online qualifiers and regional “Territory Finals,” with a combined $300,000 prize pool allocated across three regions. The top-performing teams will then compete for a share of the $1 million prize pool at the live championship, which will be distributed among the top eight teams.
The event has secured sponsorship from major industry players, including AMD, Twitch, Paycom, and Mammoth Live.
Global Domination: Invasion is yet another $1 million prize pool event added to CS2 calendar, reinforcing signals that investing in prizing money might be back as a central strategy to draw attention from teams, players and audience. Registry for the event is open at its official website.
