The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), in collaboration with The Esports Radar and strategic partner BLAST, has announced the inaugural Global Esports Industry Week (GEIW), set to take place from 18 to 22 June 2025 in Austin, Texas. This new addition to the esports calendar aims to convene leading figures from across the global industry for a week of strategic dialogue, professional networking, and forward-looking collaboration.
GEIW is positioned as a high-level business forum intended to foster alignment and sustainable development across the maturing esports landscape. Organised to coincide with the sold-out BLAST.tv Austin Major Finals (21–22 June), the event is designed as a neutral space where publishers, tournament organisers, teams, investors, legal professionals, and technology innovators can collectively address the sector’s shared challenges.
The five-day event will be centred at the Downright Austin Hotel and will include a mix of executive summits, workshops, and experiential gatherings. The agenda features several key components with industry leaders, including summits, workshops, and events designed to promote networking between participants. Attendees can also expect partner activations, memorandum of understanding signings, and behind-the-scenes access at the BLAST.tv Major.
According to Stephen Hanna, CEO of ESIC, the event responds to industry-wide calls for more coordinated action: “The global esports ecosystem has reached a tipping point where sustainable growth depends on collective action. Global Esports Industry Week 2025 is our answer to that need.”
Sam Cooke, CEO and Co-Founder of The Insights Group (parent company of The Esports Radar), yielded significant business outcomes from the event, forecasting “a lot of hands shook and deals done”.
“As co-organiser, The Esports Radar team is thrilled to launch its first event alongside our good friends over at ESIC and BLAST,” said Cooke at the event’s press release. “We couldn’t have hoped for a better city than Austin to host the first GEIW; an accessible, brilliant, proudly weird city for all to enjoy in and around the programmed events, and one with so many major corporations there or close by, alongside a sold-out CS Major no less.”
James Woollard, Director of Market Development at BLAST, also emphasised the strategic significance of combining GEIW with the BLAST.tv Major: “This partnership underscores our commitment to building meaningful, sustainable connections across the global esports ecosystem.”
GEIW offers a variety of access tiers, with early-bird rates available until 19 May. While passes do not grant access to the BLAST.tv Major arena, they include exclusive backstage experiences and city-wide hospitality events.
