Apex Legends pro Philip “ImperialHal“ Dosen, often regarded as the battle royale title’s best player of all time, has become the first to reach the $1 million earnings milestone after victory at the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Open 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In fact, in New Orleans he did not only win the event – adding another $100,000 to his earnings – but was also named the MVP of the tournament.
Posting about it after the fact, Hal said: “Officially hit $1 Million earned in Esports/Apex Legends … More to come.”

While ImperialHal made the majority of his money while representing TSM, he now plays for Team Falcons, who will be hoping he can continue his winning ways heading into this year’s Esports World Cup.
A win there could be huge for the organization, who were Club Championship winners in 2024, and will no doubt aspire to go back-to-back this year with strong showings across dozens of tournaments.
After Hal, the next highest earner is his teammate Rhys “Zer0“ Perry on just over $800,000, while his former TSM teammate Jordan “Reps“ Wolfe is in third with over $680,000 earned.
Hal has a good gap over the others, and if he continues winning these major ALGS tournaments and performing well at the World Cup, there may well be a few more years in his dominance over the esports title.
ImperialHal has long been regarded as the best Apex Legends player in the world, with a track record of consistent tournament wins. His performance with the game character Bloodhound is something that many players aspire to recreate.
