The Winter Split for the 2025 League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) has become the seventh most-watched event in its history.

Peak viewing figures for the opening split for the EMEA region reached over 800,000, beating the existing LEC Winter Split viewership record by approximately 30,000.

Data recorded by Esports Charts reveals that the peak viewing figure for the 2025 LEC Winter Split was 801,369, which occurred during the Grand Final, where French esports organisation Karmine Corp faced G2 Esports.

The LEC Winter Split currently has the second-highest peak viewership for a League of Legends tournament in 2025. At the top of the table is the inaugural LCK Cup, which recorded 1.9 million viewers across its 112 hours of air time.

The increase in viewership is primarily due to Karmine Corp’s huge popularity in France. As one of the biggest esports organisations in the country, it featured in all five of the most-watched matches of the Split. In addition, the organisation’s Co-owner, Kamel ‘Kameto’ Kebir co-streamed the matches which hit over 230,000 viewers.

Riot Games allowing the biggest names in League of Legends to show its biggest events on their own channels is continuing to drive significant engagement. For the LEC Winter Split, former player Robert ‘Caedrel’ Lamont became the most-followed English co-streamer, with viewership peaking at 139,298 and averaging 69,546.

The LEC’s viewing figures continue to display a positive trend. Since the Winter Split was introduced in 2023, the average viewership has continued to increase every year. This, combined with the success of its co-streaming initiative, the upward trend is likely to carry on throughout the year.

Riot Games’ top tier of League of Legends in the EMEA region continues to grow, cementing it as one of the most-viewed esports leagues in the world.

The LEC Winter Split was won by Karmine Corp and will represent Europe at the inaugural First Stand tournament taking place in Seoul, South Korea, from March 10th to 16th.
