Independent game development studio The Brain Trust has announced the appointment of esports marketing executive Nathan Edmonds as Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Edmonds will lead global marketing efforts for the studio’s debut title, Esports Team Manager, a management simulation game set for Early Access release on Steam in Q4 2025.

Bringing over a decade of experience in the esports and gaming sector, Edmonds has previously held senior roles at organisations including Excel Esports (now known as GiantX), job platform Hitmarker, and consultancy Hotdrop. He is also the Founder and CEO of creative marketing agency Get In, and has a background spanning team operations, content production, and strategic communications.

Commenting on the appointment, The Brain Trust Founder and CEO Paul Capoccia said, “We’re building Esports Team Manager to be the most realistic esports management experience ever created. What Nathan brings to the table can’t be replicated. He has the experience, he has the vision, and he has the drive to make sure this game resonates with both esports enthusiasts and newcomers alike. We’re privileged to have him aboard.”

Esports Team Manager aims to allow players to take on the role of managing a professional esports organisation, with gameplay including tasks such as hiring staff, devising team strategies, and overseeing operational details like stadium snack pricing. The title is being developed with direct input from industry professionals, incorporating feedback from hundreds of interviews to ensure an authentic and detailed simulation.

Edmonds expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Paul and I met a few months back, and I was instantly impressed with the vision for the game; it’s something esports fans have yet to really experience, so the fact I get to play a part in making this possible is immensely exciting.”

Esports Team Manager is currently available for wishlisting on Steam ahead of its anticipated Early Access launch later this year.
