Former Logitech and Nike executive Hoby Darling has been named the new President of Riot Games, effective April 21. In the role, Darling will oversee teams at the publisher of popular esports titles like League of Legends and VALORANT, filling a role that has been vacant since Dylan Jadeja left the chair in 2023 to fill the role of CEO.

With a career spanning leadership roles also at Skullcandy/Astro Gaming and Volcom, Darling co-founded a division dedicated to esports athletes and creators at Logitech. His tenure as CEO of Skullcandy and Astro Gaming solidified his reputation in the gaming hardware space, making him a strategic fit for Riot’s ambitions.

Riot did not share further details on objectives and goals under the new President. In a statement, Hoby Darling expressed enthusiasm for Riot’s culture: “Riot has a long history of creating experiences that truly matter to players, and I couldn’t be more excited to work alongside passionate Rioters.”

Jadeja publicly shared his expectations for Darling’s approach to the team: “He’ll help Rioters tap into their creativity, sharpen their focus, and channel their competitive fire. Most importantly, he understands the importance of nurturing our creative heart and will challenge us to keep raising the bar for each other and for players.”
