Riot Games has officially named Jian “Uzi” Zihao as the second inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends, cementing his status as one of the most iconic and influential players in the game’s history.
Uzi is widely considered one of the greatest bot laners to ever play the game. Rising to fame with Royal Club and later Royal Never Give Up (RNG), Uzi helped redefine the ADC role and ushered in a new era of League of Legends talent in China. His performances at the 2013 and 2014 World Championship Finals and his dominance in 2018 made him a household name in esports cemented his legacy as one of esports’ greats.
“Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports,” said Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports. “His passion and determination have inspired millions, and once we saw the voting breakdown from the global votes, it was clear that Uzi had left his mark on LoL Esports. We are honored to induct him in the Hall of Legends.”
The induction will be celebrated through an in-game Hall of Legends event starting June 11, which includes a themed event pass and cosmetic items designed in collaboration with Uzi. An official induction ceremony will also take place in Shanghai on June 6.
As part of the celebration, Riot has again partnered with Mercedes-Benz, who will present Uzi with a one-of-a-kind MANUFAKTUR-customized G-Class with EQ Technology. The automaker will also unveil a bespoke art piece blending real-world and League of Legends elements to commemorate his career.
The Hall of Legends initiative, launched by Riot in 2023, honors a single player each year based on competitive accomplishments, statistical excellence, and influence on the game. Faker was the first to be inducted.
