Gonna Need Milk, the campaign led by the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP), has announced that The Milk Cup, billed as the world’s largest women’s Fortnite tournament, will be held at TwitchCon San Diego 2025 on 18 October. The LAN championship will feature a $300,000 prize pool, the largest ever for a women’s esports event in North America.
The event marks The Milk Cup’s second LAN edition and remains the only women’s Fortnite LAN tournament to date. Fifty duos will compete in the finals, with Gonna Need Milk covering travel and accommodation to lower participation barriers. The competition has been developed in partnership with streamer ThePeachCobbler and the Women of the eRena (WOTE), and is produced by Raidiant’s all-women production team.
As part of the official collaboration with Twitch, Gonna Need Milk will operate the entire LAN area at TwitchCon throughout the weekend. Attendees will have access to dedicated activations, interactive gaming experiences, giveaways, and the chance to engage with top players from the Fortnite women’s community.
“TwitchCon is where our community comes to life,” said Rachel Delphin, Chief Marketing Officer at Twitch. “We’re excited to welcome Gonna Need Milk and The Milk Cup to an event that not only celebrates and uplifts women in gaming, but also creates unforgettable, entertaining experiences for attendees.”
Jen Grubb, Senior Marketing Manager at MilkPEP, stated: “This partnership allows us to continue providing never-before-seen opportunities in women’s esports, highlight emerging talent, and connect directly with those shaping the future of competitive gaming.”
In 2024, The Milk Cup broadcast attracted over 7 million viewers, and this year’s edition is expected to surpass that milestone. The tournament can be watched live on the Gonna Need Milk Twitch channel, with community-led Fortnite watch parties also planned. The initiative also includes an Academy programme to support the development of young female players, offering a pathway for newcomers to hone their skills in competitive Fortnite.
