Esports platform Toornament has announced a partnership with French game developer Sloclap to support the launch of a competitive scene for Rematch, a newly released football-themed title. The collaboration includes the development of a white-label tournament platform fully integrated within the Rematch ecosystem.
To support the game’s competitive ambitions, Sloclap opted to centralise Rematch’s esports activities using a bespoke version of Toornament’s technology. The solution enables community organisers to create and manage tournaments of varying formats and sizes, handle registrations, and promote competitions within a platform aligned with the game’s branding.
In a LinkedIn post, Toornament’s Marketing & Communication Manager Sylvain Maillard said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Sloclap to help build the competitive gaming scene. Since the launch of Rematch, the dedicated competition platform developed by Toornament has allowed the community to organize and participate in tournaments, centralize information and match results.”
Players are also able to register teams, report match results, and build public profiles to showcase their achievements. According to Toornament, hundreds of community organisers have already expressed interest in contributing to the scene, with dozens of tournaments scheduled in the near future.
Following the game’s release, Rematch quickly gained traction with one million unique players recorded within the first 24 hours, and a reported three million shortly thereafter. The rapid uptake has been attributed to its gameplay innovations, skill-based mechanics, and distinct visual identity.
Rematch is not the only football-themed game to recently gain awareness in the esports scene. UFL, developed by Strikerz Inc., also got headlines earlier this year for introducing an open tournament model.
