Esports Charts has announced it will not cover the upcoming BRICS Tournament 2025, citing ethical objections related to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the involvement of the Russian Esports Federation (RESF).
The event, which features Tekken 8 and is set to take place in Moscow, will not be tracked in any capacity on Esports Charts’ platform. The company stated it will exclude the tournament from its viewership database, omit its results from total prize pool calculations, and not reflect its outcomes in team or club profiles. No articles or media coverage related to the tournament will be published on their channels.
In a public statement, the Ukraine-based company said the decision stems from “RESF’s involvement in occupied territories” and ongoing military actions in Ukraine: “Our decision of not covering this event signifies that it will not appear in our tournament database or blog: we will not track its viewership, its results will not affect the totals of discipline prize pools, or club profiles on our platform.”
This move effectively removes the BRICS tournament from one of the most commonly used third-party esports data sources, reducing its visibility to teams, sponsors, and publishers that rely on such metrics for performance analysis and business decisions.

This decision continues a wider trend of companies taking public stances since the start of Russia’s invasion in 2022. Some publishers and tournament organisers have suspended Russian operations or limited participation, though enforcement has varied, both in esports and across the wider scope of traditional sports too.
Esports Charts concluded its statement by affirming its commitment to “ethical analytics,” alongside the message “#StandWithUkraine.”
The BRICS Tournament 2025 is still expected to proceed in Moscow, though its absence from platforms like Esports Charts may impact its international relevance and commercial visibility.
