Israeli app developer WaveClear Ltd. has launched a League of Legends coaching app.
WaveClear is powered by AI and monitors player performance across various areas including focus, stress, levels, and in-game mechanics.
According to a release, the developers of the app claim it’s the first that’s capable of analysing areas of player performance across matches. WaveClear also creates a personalised training plan with the aim to improve in-game performance through in-game tips.
As users get better, the AI adapts the training program to focus on other areas where there is room for improvement. In addition, the app also detects any drop in performance and supports users in returning to optimum performance levels.
WaveClear says League of Legends will be the current focus of the app and plans on supporting other titles in the future. Alongside PC, the developer is also looking at offering the app on mobile, consoles, and cloud-based platforms.
As well as more platforms, the future updates for the app will enable streamers to record higher engagement and offer esports coaches additional insight on how professional players can improve their performance.
The use of AI across the world is increasing across all industries, with esports slowly beginning to integrate models across a variety of initiatives. WaveClear is one of the first to utilise AI in a product designed to enhance player performance and to provide esports organisations with insight into areas of improvement.
Outside of gaming, WaveClear is exploring avenues to see how its training tools can benefit other industries. The developer partnered with the Academy of Art University’s gaming and esports program to conduct research beginning later this year.
“More than 80% of gamers are stuck in the lower rankings, trying to rank up for years and unable to, despite using apps, watching hundreds of videos, and attending gaming bootcamps,” said Yuval Gelbard, founder and CEO of WaveClear.
“I was one of those gamers. After trying to improve using every available solution, I realised none of them addressed the most important factor in performance improvement – mindset – so I decided to create an app that did.”
