Elie Honain has officially been appointed as Vice President of the Lebanese Esports & Robotics Federation (LERF).
Honain shared the news via LinkedIn, calling it a proud moment and outlining his plans for the role. He said he wants to help grow esports in Lebanon, support local players, build structured competitions, attract sponsors, and raise standards so Lebanese teams can compete internationally.
Elie Honain is a prominent esports executive with experience in building the gaming industry across the Middle East. He is currently Co-Founder and CEO of NES (Nesma Esports), an esports production and events company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before that, he was CEO of QUEST Esports in Doha, where he worked on regional projects, partnered with the Qatar Esports Federation, helped develop local talent, and organised tournaments.
He has also spoken at major industry events such as the Saudi Sports & Leisure Summit, Dubai Esports Festival, and Global Games Show. His work includes advising on esports infrastructure projects, including smart arenas linked to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The Lebanese Esports & Robotics Federation, on the other hand, is Lebanon’s official government body for esports and robotics. It was established in March 2021 and is licensed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The federation works to promote esports in games like PUBG Mobile, eFootball, Tekken, DOTA 2, and Counter-Strike 2. LERF aims to create a strong and professional esports ecosystem in Lebanon, despite limited government funding. It relies heavily on community support and self-funding to run its activities
Elie Honain’s appointment as Vice President comes at a crucial moment, as the Esports Foundation (former Esports World Cup Foundation) has recently named the Lebanese Esports & Robotics Federation an official partner for the upcoming Esports Nations Cup. As a result, Honain, alongside the federation’s top leadership, will play a key role in selecting the national team for this major international competition.
