Team Vitality has announced a leadership change, with Co-founder Fabien Devide becoming the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He replaces fellow Co-founder Nicolas Maurer, who will now take on the role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
The change was announced by Maurer, who said he is handing over the CEO position after nine years and has full confidence in Devide to lead the organisation forward. Under the new structure, Devide will lead the organisation as CEO with a focus on competitive performance and operations, with Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) as a key priority.
Maurer, as Chief Strategy Officer, will focus on long-term development, new business areas, and diversifying revenue streams, while still remaining involved in the daily life and representation of the club. Co-CEO Vas Roberts, is closer to commercial operations.
Maurer described the move as a natural next step for the organisation as it adapts to changes in the esports industry. This kind of shift, where founders divide roles based on their strengths, is common in growing companies to improve focus and support long-term growth.

Team Vitality was founded on August 5, 2013, in Paris by Devide and Maurer. The organisation began as a passion project and has grown into one of Europe’s leading esports clubs. Over the years, it has expanded into multiple game titles including CS2, League of Legends, VALORANT, and Rocket League, while also growing internationally, including global expansion through acquisitions such as of Bigetron Esports in Indonesia, and diversifying its portfolio such as with the launch of its own marketing agency Rushbee.
The leadership change comes during a period of strong performance for the organisation. Team Vitality has delivered a dominant 2025–2026 run in CS2, securing multiple titles, surpassing $10 million in prize money earnings, and increasing investment in academies and infrastructure. As the company expands across more games, regions, and commercial activities, the founders have chosen to split responsibilities more clearly.
