US-based software company Esports Foundry has announced a strategic partnership with Capital University to develop a new esports center on the university’s campus.
The financial terms of this partnership deal weren’t publicly disclosed. However, Esports Foundry has confirmed in an official release that they will oversee the strategic planning and implementation process.
While building this esports center, the company’s responsibilities might include deciding hardware specifications, procuring and installing high-performance gaming PCs and consoles, setting up competitive player stations and peripherals, designing and deploying low-latency network infrastructure, implementing tournament server environments, etc.
According to the two organisations, the center will serve multiple purposes, including hosting a variety of esports competitions, supporting student clubs, and providing space for campus-wide programming opportunities. In addition to professional competitions, the university will also utilise the center for student activities, academic growth, and career development in the esports and gaming industry.

Keven Barrera, CEO of Esports Foundry, said, “Capital University is demonstrating visionary leadership by embracing esports as both a competitive platform and an academic gateway. We are honored to partner with President Jared R. Tice, Ed.D., Athletics Director Dr. Darrell Bailey Sr., and Director of Esports Gidd Sasser in designing a center that will not only elevate competitive performance but also empower students with industry-relevant skills and meaningful career pathways.”
Gidd Sasser, Director of Esports, said, “I am incredibly excited about our partnership with Esports Foundry to bring a top-tier esports experience to Capital University. It was clear from the beginning that Esports Foundry’s vision and experience aligned with the already high stakeholder support across all departments, a level rarely seen in collegiate esports. We have the highest expectations for building a championship program, and EF provides the best opportunity for us to succeed in this endeavor.”
University officials also pointed out that the partnership will contribute to the growth in collegiate esports programs across the Midwest and nationally, as universities invest in facilities that combine competition with educational opportunities.
For example, Lawrence Technological University, a private university in the USA, has recently announced a collaboration with Team Liquid, becoming one of the few esports programs in the world to work with a professional organisation.
