Japanese esports team QT DIG∞ has announced that it will temporarily suspend the activities of its League of Legends team.
QT DIG∞ launched its League of Legends division in 2018. Since then, the team has taken part in both domestic and international tournaments. Sengoku Co., Ltd., the operator of the Japanese professional esports team QT DIG∞ stated in the official release that the temporary suspension is part of an internal review of how the team manages competition in that division.
While activities are paused, QT DIG∞ will continue supporting the League of Legends competitive scene through a new partnership with FENNEL Inc. As part of this collaboration, QT DIG∞ will provide its training facility, known as QT DIG∞ BASE, to Japanese esports organisation FENNEL’s League of Legends team. Both the orgs have specifically highlighted that these training facilities will be exclusively used for League of Legends activities.

Kei Nishida, CEO of QT DIG∞, said, “We are extremely honored to be able to collaborate with FENNEL, a company with a strong ambition and an eye on the future of the Japanese LoL scene. By combining the operational knowledge and facility assets that QT DIG∞ has cultivated over the years with FENNEL’s long-term vision, we will bring a breath of fresh air to the competitive scene.”
FENNEL, which disbanded its League of Legends (LoL) division in December 2023, also confirmed that it has re-established its League of Legends roster to compete in the upcoming official domestic league, “League of Legends Japan League 2026 Winter Series Main Stage”.
FENNEL further explained that the team will make use of QT DIG∞’s experience and knowledge from years of team management in the Japanese League of Legends scene to help strengthen teams over the medium to long term.
The announcement comes at a time when teams in the League of Legends Japan League have faced ongoing challenges. Japanese teams have often struggled to compete against top international regions. In 2025, the league was restructured and positioned as a Tier 2 feeder league into the League of Legends Championship Pacific, reflecting the region’s smaller market compared to major esports regions.
