SURGE Europe, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports organisation in Europe, has officially announced the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang European Championship (MEC) to redefine the MLBB scene across the continent.

The MEC Regular Season is set to kick off on November 7 which will feature 16 of Europe’s top teams battling for a €16,000 prize pool and 126,000 in-game diamonds. These 16 teams have fought their way through a rigorous multi-stage qualification system that spanned several months.

Jaroslav Melišek, CEO of SURGE Europe, said in an official statement, “As we enter the second half of our operations in Europe under SURGE Europe, I am proud to see how our community and players have grown significantly. The journey of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in Europe has experienced many ups and downs, but I firmly believe we are now on the strongest path to compete among the global titans.”

Melišek further explained that SURGE Europe’s primary vision is to build a competitive ecosystem for Mobile Legends in Europe to prove that the European MLBB scene is ready to stand alongside the world’s best.

It’s no secret that MLBB has been dominating the Southeast Asian esports market for a very long time. However, Europe has struggled to establish its own identity in the game’s global esports landscape until now, as SURGE Europe has made significant progress in promoting MLBB competitions across the continent.

While countries like Malaysia and the Philippines are already using Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to inspire the next generation, SURGE could help bring the same positive impact to youth in Europe.
