While Teamfight Tactics (TFT) does not get spotlight as a professional esports scene with big events and audiences, it still holds a fair player base, making it fertile ground for grassroots initiatives: GGTech Entertainment has announced the launch of TFT Clubs España, a new community and competition system for TFT players across Spain. The initiative allows participants to join local clubs, engage in tournaments, and work their way toward national and international events.
The project is the latest development in GGTech’s ongoing collaboration with Riot Games, the publisher behind TFT. GGTech, headquartered in Alicante, is responsible for producing the TFT Tactician’s Crown, the game’s world championship events.
TFT Clubs España introduces a club-based structure designed to foster local engagement through both online and in-person activities. With geolocation as a key feature, players are encouraged to join clubs in their own city or region, aiming to strength community bonds and making it easier to organise offline gatherings. As of now, 25 clubs have been established, representing over 13,000 members nationwide.
Known Spanish TFT content creators, as well as teams like Otakar Esports, have already created their own communities within the platform. A university version of the programme, TFT University Clubs, has also been rolled out. It mirrors the general system and enables students to form TFT communities within their academic institutions.
Each club features its own leaderboard, giving players the opportunity to climb the ranks and earn exclusive rewards. Participation in club competitions can lead to qualification for the TFT España Major, which will take place on 5 July in Barcelona, at the Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza.
This offline event, titled TFT Cybercity, will bring together the top 32 players in the country, determined through snapshots and prior tournaments. The winner will secure a place at the TFT Paris Open 2025 and receive a high-end gaming PC from partner iBUYPOWER.
