Chengdu will host the BLAST Dota Slam Chengdu from 5–7 December 2025, marking BLAST’s first arena event in mainland China. The $1 million Dota 2 tournament will be staged at the 12,000-seat Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre as part of a three-year partnership with the Chengdu Broadcasting Film and Television Group.

The city has become a focal point for international esports, with events such as IEM Chengdu and the upcoming League of Legends World Championship Final in November 2025 reinforcing its status. Supportive policies and investment in infrastructure have helped position Chengdu as a key player in the global esports market.

James Woollard, BLAST’s Director of Market Development, said: “We are incredibly proud to bring BLAST’s first ever event in mainland China to Chengdu; a city with rich culture, cutting-edge infrastructure, a history of live entertainment and a growing reputation for gaming and esports.”

Zhou Wenwen, General Manager of Chengdu Broadcasting Film and Television Group, added that the partnership would “inject strong fuel into the development of the esports industry in Chengdu and make significant contributions.”

The tournament will feature leading teams including Tundra, Heroic, Team Spirit, Team Falcons, Parivision and Team Liquid. Broadcasts will reach more than 50 territories in over 30 languages. The event will take place a month before the BLAST Dota Slam Singapore, which will mark BLAST’s debut in Dota 2 arena events and is part of another multi-year agreement of the company.
