The first Adaptive Esports Summit will be held in Daejeon, South Korea, this December, aiming to promote accessible gaming and inclusive technology within the esports industry.
Scheduled for 13th December 2025 at the Daejeon Esports Arena, the event is being convened to address the accessibility gap in competitive gaming. It is hosted by the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (DICIA) and Daejeon Metropolitan City, organised by WAAG and MAUM E&A Co., and sponsored by Logitech G. The summit seeks to empower gamers of all abilities through showcases and discussions on adaptive technology.
The programme will feature interactive demonstrations of the latest adaptive gaming hardware and software, allowing attendees to experience the technology directly. A series of panel discussions will also be held, featuring global experts in accessibility and esports. Confirmed speakers include Bryce Johnson, Co-Inventor of the Xbox Adaptive Controller and Principal Researcher for Accessibility & Inclusive Design at Microsoft; Todd Harris, CEO of Resurgens Gaming; and Tülay McNally, Senior Director of Inclusive Design Strategy at Scopely.

Tiago Fernandes, Co-Founder of the Adaptive Esports Summit, highlighted the core mission: “Gaming should be accessible to all, regardless of physical limitations. Technology can bridge that gap. This summit celebrates the diversity of the gaming community while showing how esports can break down traditional barriers to participation.”
In addition to the technology showcases and talks, the summit will host a League of Legends and Tekken 8 tournament. This will feature four-time EVO champion DRX’s Bae “Knee” Jae-Min and is designed to encourage participation from gamers with disabilities. The format will also allow non-disabled players to use adaptive technologies during the competition.
The initiative reflects a growing industry focus on inclusivity, following increased attention on accessible controller design and inclusive game development in recent years. Events like this aim to establish new standards for creating inclusive gaming environments at a competitive level.
