A new partnership aims to connect West African esports talent with global industry infrastructure through an educational initiative in Seoul. Korean organisation Gen.G has entered into a collaboration with Astra Creatives Ghana LBG to launch an exclusive programme for Ghanaian professionals and enthusiasts.

The partnership will see the creation of the 7 day Esports Adventure Program, which will bring its first cohort of participants from Ghana to Seoul, South Korea, in August 2026. The initiative is designed to provide workshops at Gen.G’s facilities, offer industry immersion, and facilitate cultural exchange, with the stated goal of building a direct bridge for Ghanaian talent to the global esports stage.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the deal, Micdad Morgan, President of Astra Creatives Ghana framed the collaboration as a pivotal moment for the region. He stated, “This partnership is more than a program, it’s a commitment to unlocking potential and creating tangible pathways for the next generation of African esports professionals.”

This initiative aligns with Gen.G’s existing efforts in esports education. In late 2025, the organisation’s ‘Practicum Abroad’ program teamed up with thirteen U.S. universities to offer students a three-week study program in Seoul. That scheme also focuses on providing hands-on experience, lectures from industry professionals, and visits to gaming organisations.

The move underscores a continued trend of global esports initiatives developing formalised educational pathways and talent scouting networks beyond their traditional markets. Other examples include T1‘s partnership with LunaTorre for esports education in Japan and Saudi Arabia’s initiative through the Savvy Games Group and King Abdulaziz University partnership.

For Gen.G, the partnership with Astra Creatives Ghana represents an expansion of its international academic programs into the African continent, a region increasingly gaining attention as an emerging market for competitive gaming.
