Norwegian esports organisation HEROIC has officially named Joachim Harg as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment continues Harg’s steady rise inside the Oslo based organisation. He first joined HEROIC in September 2021 as Head of Finance, later becoming Chief Financial Officer in September 2023, before taking the CEO position in February 2026.

Harg shared the news himself, saying, “I’m happy to share that I’m stepping into the CEO role at HEROIC!
Lots of opportunities ahead. With the best (and funniest) people in the industry, I’m confident we’ll make the most of them.”

Global Esports Industry Week (GEIW) will return in 2026 with a bigger and bolder edition, taking place across 18–21 June in Cologne, Germany, alongside IEM Cologne. The schedule and details about ticket sales are available in this link.

Before entering esports, Harg built a career in finance and investment banking across major Norwegian institutions. He served as Senior Financial Advisor at Innovation Norway from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, he spent over four years at Nordea in Debt Capital Markets investment banking roles, progressing from Associate to Associate Director.

Earlier in his career, Harg worked at DNB for more than five years, holding positions including LBO and Loan Origination Analyst, Advisor to the CEO and management group, and corporate trainee. Prior to Joachim Harg, Valsgaard led HEROIC from October 2023, after previously serving as Director of Esports Operations from October 2021 to September 2023.

The leadership change follows another internal move last year. In September 2025, HEROIC promoted Sam Molloy to Commercial Lead. At the time, Molloy said he was excited to continue working at the organisation and that the company was hiring more commercial staff.
