OverActive Media, a digital media, esports and entertainment company that owns Toronto KOI in Canada and Movistar KOI in Spain, has promoted Louis Zhang to Chief Financial Officer.
Zhang had been serving as Interim Chief Financial Officer since November 2025, officially taking on the permanent CFO role in February 2026.
As Chief Financial Officer, Zhang will continue to lead all areas of the company’s finance operations. This includes finance, accounting, treasury and capital markets. He will also work closely with the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors on long-term planning and execution.
“Louis has been a key leader for us through an important period in OverActive’s evolution,” said Adam Adamou, Chief Executive Officer of OverActive Media. “He has helped sharpen our focus on profitability and cash discipline, strengthened our finance function and supported the strategic work we are doing across Toronto, Madrid, Barcelona and Berlin. Elevating him to Chief Financial Officer reflects both his impact to date and the confidence we have in him as we move into the next phase of our plan.”

OverActive also recently renewed its deal with SCUF Gaming for a seventh straight season, keeping the brand on board as the official controller partner of its Call of Duty League team, Toronto KOI. It also shared its financial results for the period ending September 30, 2025, explaining the financial impact of ending Movistar KOI’s VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA participation and its decision to double down on its core franchised titles moving forward.
Around the same time, the company has been busy on a few other fronts, like supporting bids in Canada and Spain for national representation at the upcoming Esports Nations Cup.
He previously served as Treasurer for Cultural Interpretation Services for Our Communities, a registered charity that provides interpretation and translation services. Earlier in his career, Zhang also worked at Dentsu for more than six years, where he served as a Vice President to lead a finance team overseeing accounting, reporting, compliance, audit and other financial operations. Outside of OverActive, Zhang is also active in the nonprofit sector. He serves as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair at Migraine Canada.
