Team Heretics has announced a multi-year partnership with Maysun, a Swiss health and performance start-up, to integrate a professional healthcare infrastructure into its competitive operations.
The deal aims to shift the focus from short-term results to sustainable excellence by providing players with structured support in mental and physical conditioning. This partnership arrives as the esports industry increasingly treats athlete well-being as a core component of high-level performance rather than an optional addition.
The collaboration involves the implementation of a science-driven framework across the Spanish organisation’s rosters, covering pillars such as prevention, recovery, and long-term athlete development. The system also includes “return-to-play” frameworks, similar to those found in traditional professional sports, to manage player injuries and burnout.
Beyond the professional teams, the partnership will extend to educational initiatives and community-focused activations aimed at promoting responsible training habits for the next generation of players.
Vicente Pérez Sánchez, CCO at Team Heretics, highlighted on LinkedIn the importance of player-centric values in the deal: “From the very first conversation I had with Viktor Bartolomei [Founder & CEO at Maysun and former Logitech], it was clear that we shared the same vision: building something meaningful, putting players first, and striving for excellence in everything we do.”
Maysun is a Swiss health and performance start-up dedicated to raising healthcare standards in professional gaming. The firm, which is also a partner of the Swiss organisation Shifters, co-creates its performance frameworks with medical experts and specialists. According to the company, the role of the partnership is to protect players and build a structure that allows talent to thrive sustainably, positioning health as a “competitive edge” in the gaming sector.
This institutionalization of health is further evidenced at the league level. In January 2026, Riot Games EMEA entered a multi-year partnership with the men’s health organisation Movember. Serving as the Official Mental Health Partner for the LEC, VCT EMEA, and Game Changers, the collaboration embeds structured wellbeing frameworks directly into the tournament environment.
