North American esports organisation FlyQuest has launched a new initiative called Project Grassroots on March 19, 2026. The goal of the project is to support Tier 2 esports teams and smaller competitive programs that often struggle to survive due to lack of funding and resources.

FlyQuest CEO Brian Anderson announced the project in a video posted on the organisation’s official account on X. In the video, he said that Tier 2 and grassroots esports are “the lifeblood of this industry” but are currently facing serious sustainability problems.

The project will focus on helping grassroots teams, collegiate squads, women’s esports programs such as Game Changers, and other growing competitive scenes. The organisation said it will begin supporting new programs later in 2026 and continue into 2027.

FlyQuest is also asking the community to help identify teams that need support by tagging the organisation on social media if they need help with travel, sponsorship, or other resources. The team will be monitoring these requests and looking for opportunities to step in.

Anderson explained that FlyQuest is in a stable financial position and can step in to help. He also shared examples of past efforts by the organisation, including paying for team travel, supporting the former CLG Red Counter-Strike roster in 2023, starting women’s esports programs, and expanding into Tier 2 VALORANT through Challengers North America.

The announcement video ended with a “PROJECT: GRASSROOTS” graphic along with partner logos including OLIPOP, Logitech, Tradeify, Stacked, and LEON.BET, indicating that the project has backing from multiple partners. No specific tier 2 esports teams have been named yet, but FlyQuest said updates and new announcements will be shared in the near future.

FlyQuest launched Project Grassroots while they’re already building serious momentum with new brand deals. One standout is their partnership with Tradeify, which focuses on giving their community access to trading education. They also leaned into fashion and lifestyle with their apparel collab with Von Dutch and a partnership with Korean skincare brand BRMUD.
