The Mobile, Esports and Gaming Alliance (MEGA Advanced), the company behind the Esports Awards, has appointed Hamilton Day as its new Partnership Director.

Day shared the news on LinkedIn, saying he had joined the team behind the show, which he noted has grown from 80,000 viewers in 2016 to 20 million viewers and 13 million fan votes last year.

Day did not lay out specific duties in his announcement. Based on what a Partnerships Director role typically covers at a company running a large awards show, his work could involve finding and negotiating deals with brands, publishers, and platforms that want to be involved with the Esports Awards and managing relationships with existing partners and sponsors from year to year. It could also mean working with the content and production teams to build partner-related segments, activations, or experiences around the show.

Esports Leaders Paris is on 21st August at the 5-star Hôtel du Collectionneur bringing together senior decision-makers in and around esports and gaming during the closing EWC weekend. Get your pass here.

Apart from working at MEGA Advanced, Hamilton Day is currently running his own company, DIEM Agency, a specialised consulting, advertising, and partner marketing firm that he founded in May 2020.

Before joining MEGA Advanced, he held several senior roles across the technology, gaming, and partnership sectors. From April 2024 to May 2026, he served as Head of Ecosystem and GTM Partnerships at Illuvium.io. Prior to that, he was Head of Brand Partnerships at GameStop for almost a year. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a Partner Business Manager at Podium from May 2021 to April 2022.

Day’s appointment is one of several senior hires MEGA Advanced has made as the company gets ready for the 2026 Esports Awards. The company recently hired Patrick Collins as Vice President of Growth, who will focus on finding new business opportunities and helping the company expand its main businesses. MEGA also hired Morgan Tremaine as Executive Producer, who will work closely with video game publishers, streaming services, and business partners.

His appointment also comes as the Esports Awards continue to expand their commercial partnerships. The organisation has recently renewed its partnership with Oakley for the 2026 edition of the Esports Awards, while also extending its deal with the Esports Foundation for a further three years through 2028. And to grow its sponsorship business division, MEGA has recently reached an agreement with FaZe Clan parent company GameSquare, which will take over sales duties for its award shows.
