South Korean esports team Hanwha Life Esports (HLE), owned by Hanwha Life Insurance, has officially renewed its sponsorship deal with energy drink brand Monster Energy for the 2026 season.
The announcement was made via HLE’s X handle on March 30, confirming that the partnership will continue through this year’s League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) season. The new agreement for 2026 is a direct extension of the existing deal.
No new changes or additions have been announced. The partnership will continue with the same structure, including product supply, jersey branding, and joint content and fan engagement activities.
The collaboration is often referred to as the “Monster on its shoulder,” a nickname based on the logo placement on HLE’s jerseys, which has become a recognisable part of the team’s look.
In a statement shared across social platforms, HLE said, “Hanwha Life Esports will continue its partnership with global energy drink brand Monster Energy for the 2026 season. Fueled by the powerful energy that drives the run toward victory, look forward to Hanwha Life Esports’ journey with Monster Energy!”
The partnership between the two sides first began on April 9, 2025. At that time, Monster Energy agreed to supply drinks to the team and players, place its logo on the left shoulder of HLE’s official jerseys, and work with the organisation on online and offline content.
Monster Energy branding was also featured at the team’s 2026 Fan Fest event earlier this year, which included roster reveals and fan activities.
Monster Energy has been super active in esports tournaments lately. Last year, they landed some big partnerships, including becoming the Title Partner for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025. In November 2025, OpTic Gaming also confirmed Monster Energy as the main sponsor for its FCV Black Ops 7 tournament.
