The Canadian esports events company Galint Gaming has announced that Battle of BC 8 will be held from 5th to 7th June 2026 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The weekend-long tournament aims to bring together top international competitors and the local community, with the strategic shift to a summer date positioning it as a key stop on the global fighting game tour. This move is designed to elevate the event’s profile alongside established summer tournaments like Evo.

The event will feature competitive brackets for major titles including Rivals of Aether 22XKOStreet Fighter 6, and Tekken 8. Alongside the high-level competition, the festival will cater to casual gamers with beginner-friendly brackets, free play areas, and live finals viewings. The organisers emphasise the event’s appeal as a vacation destination due to its scenic location in Vancouver.

A press release provided by Galint Gaming highlighted the event’s dual purpose, stating, “Battle of BC brings Canadian fighting game fans together for the weekend to compete, connect, and celebrate the games and community they love while exploring one of the country’s most beautiful cities.”

The announcement follows the success of the 2024 edition, Battle of BC 7, which according to the organisation attracted nearly 2,000 attendees and generated an economic impact of over $700,000. The festival will also see the return of ancillary events, including the popular ‘Boat of BC’ boat party and the Canadian Esports & Gaming Industry Summit, aiming to foster networking opportunities for attendees and industry partners.

Registrations for the Battle of BC 8 are open at the event’s official website.
