Esports production company BLAST has detailed the competitive structure for the 2026 Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS), outlining a calendar with three major tournaments and a new mid-season LAN event. The changes establish a defined competitive pathway to the Fortnite Global Championship, with total prize money exceeding $10,000,000. BLAST works with Epic Games to produce and deliver the FNCS.

The FNCS season will consist of three FNCS Majors. Each Major involves a multi-stage qualification process ending in a two-day, 12-match Major Final. The winning duo from each Major will receive a share of the prize pool and will hold the ‘Axe of Champions 3.0’ in-game item. A new addition is the FNCS Major 1 Summit, a LAN event scheduled for May 2026 with a $1,000,000 prize pool, which will provide the first direct qualifications to the Global Championship.

The season will conclude with the Fortnite Global Championship 2026, featuring a $2,000,000 prize pool. Qualification will be secured through the Major 1 Summit and the finals of Majors 2 and 3. The location for the global finals is to be confirmed.

In a press release, BLAST stated: “The introduction of the FNCS Major 1 Summit creates a pivotal moment in the competitive calendar, offering players a high-stakes LAN opportunity early in the season to secure their place at the Fortnite Global Championship.”

This format announcement follows several commercial partnerships for the 2025 Global Championship. For this year’s final event, held at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France, BLAST inked ZOWIE as an official hardware partnerDanone’s Volvic Juicy as the official water partner, and Thomas Lyte as the creator of the official trophy and medals for that event.
