The Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise formerly known as the Vegas Falcons will relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and compete as the Riyadh Falcons from the 2026 season. The move follows the team’s acquisition by Saudi organisation Team Falcons in late 2024 and marks the first CDL franchise based in the Middle East.
The slot has changed hands and locations multiple times in recent years. Originally established as Paris Legion, it moved to Las Vegas in 2022 before being acquired and rebranded by Team Falcons. The Riyadh relocation finalises the franchise’s transition to Saudi ownership and headquarters.
Las Vegas is now without a CDL team, opening the market to potential new entrants. Reports indicate Atlanta FaZe may pursue a rebrand with Las Vegas as a possible destination. This is supported by a recent trademark filing, while Minnesota Rokkr did the same for G2 Minnesota.
The Carolina Royal Ravens have also abandoned their trademark, fuelling speculation of a new identity, while Spacestation Gaming is reportedly exploring entry into the league.
The move signals Activision Blizzard’s willingness to extend the CDL beyond its North American base. The Riyadh Falcons relocation also underscores the growing influence of Saudi-backed esports organisations and tournaments, championed by Team Falcons itself and initiatives like the Esports World Cup.
