Capcom Cup 11, the eleventh edition of Capcom’s annual Street Fighter 6 tournament, has become the third most-watched event in the history of the fighting game.
The event ran from March 5th to 8th, 2025, and recorded peak viewing figures of 354,039, according to Esports Charts.
Capcom Cup 11 has become the most-watched event of 2025 so far. Compared to 2024’s tournament, peak viewership has increased by 11.9%, while the number of hours watched has increased by 1.6 million.
The culmination of the 2024 Capcom Pro Tour was won by Japanese player Kakeru, who took home $1m (~£772,394) in prize money along with automatic qualification to Capcom Cup 12 and the Esports World Cup, a multi-title event operated by the Esports World Cup Foundation.
On March 10th, Capcom and the Esports World Cup Foundation announced a three-year partnership that will see Street Fighter 6 appear at the Saudi Arabian-based event until 2027. In addition, the deal has overhauled the game’s format with placements from Premiers acting as qualification to other events. Alongside Street Fighter, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is the second fighting game to feature. With two more games set to be revealed, there’s a chance more fighting games are added to the extensive list.
Capcom isn’t the only publisher to join forces with the Esports World Cup Foundation for its 2025 event. Riot Games has also partnered with the tournament organiser to bring League of Legends, VALORANT, and Teamfight Tactics to the event. A total of 25 titles are expected to host tournaments at this year’s Esports World Cup.
The next stop on the Street Fighter 6 calendar is Red Bull Kumite, which is taking place in Paris, France. The tournament marks ten years since the energy drink brand hosted its first Street Fighter tournament and will feature a €50,000 (~£42,151) prize pool.
