The College of Esports and Royal Navy Esports have entered a partnership with the stated objective of creating new pathways for students and service members to explore “innovation and personal growth” through esports.

The agreement, described at the announcement as a “landmark partnership,” was formally signed by Ashley Wharton, Chairman of Royal Navy Esports, and Dr Simon Jones, Executive Dean of the College of Esports.

Royal Navy Esports brings a community of over 850 members to the collaboration. Its programme involves members in titles such as Call of Duty, League of Legends, Formula 1, and Rocket League, ranging from casual players to national competitors. The Royal Navy’s initiative highlights the value of gaming in developing reflexes, tactical thinking, resilience, teamwork, and mental fitness.

The College of Esports, an university-level institution dedicated to the business of esports, stated the partnership aligns with its commitment to “creating opportunities that bridge industries and communities.”

The announcement concluded aiming to “shape a future where cross-industry collaboration drives excellence, well-being, and impact in education, in competition, and beyond.”
