Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold, a professional Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) player from Mongolia who is also known as Techno4K, is now the face of a Coca-Cola advertising campaign in his home country.

Coca-Cola Mongolia, which is run by MCS Coca-Cola, shared the campaign on social media. Its captions read “GOAT × Techno. No explanation needed. Just GOAT!” The posts link the player’s career success to the campaign’s themes of self-expression and sharing. The campaign centres on custom Coca-Cola bottles that carry the word “GOAT” in place of the usual brand logo. GOAT is an internet slang term that stands for “Greatest Of All Time”, and the bottles and ads include a Mongolian translation.

The advertisement theme builds on Coca-Cola’s global “Share a Coke” programme. Under that programme, the company replaces its famous logo on one side of a bottle or can with the phrase “Share a Coke with…” followed by a popular first name, a nickname or a cultural title. In this case, the title is “GOAT”.

Techno plays for The MongolZ, Mongolia’s best-known CS2 team, which has worked with Coca-Cola several times before. One earlier project, “Coca-Cola x The Mongolz Homecoming,” also drew on the “Share a Coke” idea. It marked the team’s return to Ulaanbaatar, the capital, after they raised the profile of Mongolian esports on the international stage. Team members also took part in the Coca-Cola Real Magic Zone at the Playtime Festival, where they met and spent time with fans.

That fan connection is a big part of the team’s story. In September 2026, esports organiser BLAST highlighted that Mongolian fans are known for their enthusiasm around Counter-Strike, often staying up overnight to watch matches taking place on the other side of the world. Their passion had a major moment in the spotlight in 2025, when The MongolZ reached the final of the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

Building on this momentum, Mongolia is now looking to support the scene further. As part of a proposed change to its corporate tax law, the country is considering new tax benefits and financial support for esports players. Taken together, these projects point to growing mainstream acceptance of esports in Mongolia.
