Deloitte, one of the world’s largest audit, consulting, tax and advisory services, has officially signed on as a sponsor of the British RAF (Royal Air Force) Esports Association.

The news was confirmed by the RAF Central Fund, the charity that supports sport and welfare across the Royal Air Force, in an announcement that welcomed Deloitte “onboard” as the newest organisation backing military esports.

Neither Deloitte nor the RAF Central Fund has disclosed how much the deal is worth or how long it will run. RAF Esports is the official competitive gaming programme of the British Royal Air Force. It operates under the Royal Air Force Video Gaming & Esports Association, known as RAF VGEA, and is treated as an official military sport.

That support comes largely through the RAF Central Fund, which has helped establish dedicated gaming spaces at major bases including RAF Cosford, RAF Odiham, and RAF Boulmer. These are proper LAN rooms and gaming arenas, kitted out with high-end PCs and consoles, used both for training and as community hubs for serving personnel.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with the RAF Esports Association. Deloitte see esports as a powerful platform for cultivating vital skills like leadership and strategic thinking, which are crucial for both the RAF and our own professional world. This partnership embraces a modern pathway for future talent and highlights the crucial role of the digital environment for warfighting readiness. This collaboration truly embodies our commitment to innovation, talent development, and strengthening relationships,” stated Deloitte.

Air Vice-Marshal Jamie Thompson, President of the RAF Esports Association, said, “We are delighted to welcome Deloitte as a partner of the RAF Esports Association. Their expertise, innovation and commitment to developing future talent will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of RAF Esports, creating new opportunities for our people, and strengthening the connection between military and industry as we prepare for the challenges of the digital age.”

This isn’t Deloitte’s first move into esports. The firm has built up a track record of esports partnerships over the past couple of years. In Italy, Deloitte partnered with the esports organisation HMBLE around the Brawl Stars World Championship, including branding on team jerseys; that partnership has since been renewed, with Deloitte now a main sponsor.

In Spain, Deloitte Gaming struck a strategic alliance with Good Game Group, the parent company of Vodafone Giants, to optimise the esports organisation’s business model and expand its services. And in the Netherlands, Deloitte teamed up with ESL Benelux to help host and run the ESL Dutch Championship finals.
