Epic Games has announced that it will invest $1 million in a new Fortnite Mobile Series tournament, making it one of the biggest prize pools for a mobile esports event.
According to the official announcement, the competition will be played solo in Fortnite’s Blitz Royale mode and players will be able to win cash prizes throughout the entire series. Therefore, while the proze pool amount is eye-catching, the investment isn’t being poured into one single championship event.
Instead, the prize money is spread across an entire competitive circuit that will run throughout 2026, including monthly opens, qualifiers, semi-finals, a championship, and even smaller cash tournaments along the way.
This model isn’t new for Epic. The company has mixed marquee events in the past, like Fortnite Global Championship, with dozens of smaller tournaments and cash cups that any player can enter if they meet basic requirements. The goal is to keep the entry barrier low and create a pipeline that continually feeds new talent into higher-level competition.

Epic says the tournament will roll out in three phases. The first phase is made up of Monthly Opens, starting December 5, 2025, and continuing through 2026.
The second phase includes the Group Stage and Semi-Finals. Only the best players from each region will make it this far. The top three players from the NAC and EU regions, along with the top two players from NAW, OCE, ASIA, ME, and BR, will earn a spot in the in-person Mobile Series Championship. In total, 16 players will advance.
The final phase is the Mobile Series Championship, where the top mobile Fortnite players in the world will compete face to face. All 16 finalists will take home a share of $200,000, with the overall winner receiving the biggest payout.
Epic Games has also shared the prize amounts for each Qualifier. In the North America-Central and Europe regions, first place will earn $1,000, with payouts going down to sixteenth place. In the North America-West, Oceania, Asia, Middle-East, and Brazil regions, first place will earn $700, also paying down to sixteenth place.
Between the Semi-Finals and the Championship, Epic will host four Solo Mobile Victory Cash Cups. These events are open to any eligible mobile player. Anyone who reaches round two in these cash cups will earn $100 for every Victory Royale they secure.
Fortnite isn’t the only game making big moves in esports tournaments. Battlefield has also stepped in with a major announcement of its own, revealing more than $1,000,000 in Season 1 prizes for the new REDSEC Elite Series.
