ESET Ireland, the cybersecurity software company, has become the official cybersecurity partner of the Ireland Esports Federation in a new 18-month agreement.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to keep Ireland’s national esports teams safe online and support the country’s growing gaming scene. The partnership will officially launch at the National Esports Centre in Cork, where players, coaches and officials will attend the announcement and take official team photos. ESET will also sponsor Ireland’s national esports team.
As part of the deal reported by Cork Safety Alerts, ESET Ireland will provide cybersecurity tools and advice to the Federation. This includes helping protect players and organisers when they train, compete or stream online. The two organisations will also work together on education projects, sharing tips for safer gaming and useful information for both players and parents. ESET branding will appear across IEF events, team jerseys and digital channels.
The company has confirmed that the initial deal runs for 18 months, with an option to extend for two more years. In the first half-year, fans can expect to see new team photos, ESET branding on jerseys and a “Play Safe. Play Smart.” content series covering cybersecurity basics for gamers, parents and coaches. ESET will also offer ongoing advice on account safety, secure streaming and handling security incidents.

George Foley, spokesperson for ESET Ireland, said, “For us, partnering with the Ireland Esports Federation is both a commercial and a security decision. It puts ESET in front of players, teams and organisers who care deeply about performance, strengthens our long-standing relationship with the gaming community, and lets us do what we do best: quietly keep people safe in the background so they can focus on the game.”
Steve Daly, President of the Ireland Esports Federation, said, “Competitive gaming in Ireland is growing fast, and with that growth comes a very real need to protect our players, our teams and our competitions. The IEF is delighted to welcome ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, as an Official Partner.”
