Audrey Cech has joined the Esports Foundation (EF, former Esports World Cup Foundation) as Director of Competitive Integrity & Governance. In her new role, she will support the Esports World Cup (EWC) and Esports Nations Cup (ENC) by making sure competitions are fair, transparent, and well-managed.
Cech shared her appointment news in a LinkedIn post, calling the new role an important step in her career and a chance to help strengthen the global growth, trust, and future of esports. She further explained that people usually remember esports competitions for the excitement and player performances, while the work related to governance and integrity often happens in the background.
She will focus on building trust among players, teams, and fans while ensuring that tournament rules are followed properly and events are run at a high standard. For example, if there is a dispute during a match, she will help make sure the issue is handled fairly and according to the official rules.
Before joining the Esports Foundation, Cech worked at Riot Games for more than four years, most recently serving as Global Head of Rules & Compliance for esports. In that position, she oversaw global regulatory, disciplinary, integrity, and governance matters across Riot’s esports titles, including League of Legends, VALORANT, and Teamfight Tactics.
Prior to Riot Games, Cech worked in traditional sports governance and law. She served as Legal Counsel at UEFA from 2020 to 2022, where she provided legal and administrative support for UEFA’s justice-related bodies and managed disciplinary cases.
She also spent five years at FIFA in several legal and compliance-related positions. These included roles in the Litigation Department at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the Medical & Anti-Doping department, and the Disciplinary department. Her work included handling anti-doping matters, disciplinary investigations, arbitration cases, and compliance audits connected to FIFA and WADA programs.
The Esports Foundation has been active with leadership hires. One major pickup was Isabella Hislop, who recently joined as Director of Commercial Planning. Before that, Brian Krämer was appointed Director of Product to lead the Esports Nations Cup.
