Esports-focused Business Development professional Tom Harris has announced his departure from Fnatic after two years with the organisation, to take on a new role at the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF).
At his new company, Tom will work with Senior Manager of Sponsorships François Desir and Senior Sales Director Mohammad Al Nimer, having a hybrid presence alternating between London, England, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In his new position, he will focus on managing and expanding the foundation’s global portfolio of partners. Last year, the Esports World Cup (EWC) counted on numerous partnered brands including Nestlé, LG, PEPSI, Adidas, among other industry giants.
To The Esports Radar, Tom expanded on what he aims to achieve at the EWCF: “The EWC is already well established in gaming & esports, we have an incredible roster of brand partners from around the world. The challenge now is ensuring we can take this success and build for the long-term. That means delivering tangible value for our existing partners, and thinking of new ways for brands to be involved with the EWC, through digital channels and the Festival in Riyadh.
“I’m excited for us to continue pushing the boundaries of gaming, and be in the same conversations as major traditional sports events,” he concluded.
Fnatic is one of the premier esports teams in the world, having ongoing deals with major brands like Red Bull, McDonald’s, and Amazon. The organisation is also included at the EWCF partnership programme. In his public message, Tom expressed gratitude for the experience and support he received while at the London-based esports organisation.
