Freaks 4U Gaming has announced the renewal of its operator deal for the League of Legends Esports Prime League through 2027. The agreement with Riot Games extends the agency’s role in managing the DACH regional league covering Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
The company also confirmed that German health insurance provider Techniker Krankenkasse will continue as the league’s Title Partner in 2025, following a successful debut in 2024.
The partnership between Freaks 4U Gaming and Riot Games began in 2018 with the Premier Tour, predecessor to the Prime League. Since the league’s 2020 launch, it has become a pillar of competitive LoL in the DACH region, achieving several key milestones. These include hosting its largest-ever offline event in 2024 at Ratiopharm Arena in Neu-Ulm with over 2,300 attendees, producing 680 broadcasts from a dedicated Berlin studio, and more than doubling social engagement since 2020 across 8,200+ social media posts.
Matthias Remmert , Senior Vice President of Product, TV & Media Production, said: “We are incredibly excited about the license renewal for Prime League, it is a testament to the solid foundation Freaks has laid and our commitment to elevating the League of Legends ecosystem in the DACH region. We appreciate the trust from Riot Games and look forward to our continued partnership.
“Bridging esports with adjacent industries is part of our mission at Freaks to proactively drive the growth and development of gaming and esports, and we are grateful for our successful collaboration of Techniker Krankenkasse to exemplify exactly that. We are pleased to welcome Techniker Krankenkasse to return as the Title Partner of Prime League in 2025, as we continue to work together on new ideas to engage the community and elevate the league.”
Techniker Krankenkasse returns after becoming the league’s first health-focused Title Partner, following previous sponsorships from STRAUSS and others facilitated through agencies like SPORTFIVE.
Bruno Kollhorst, Head of Cooperations and Event Marketing at Techniker Krankenkasse, said: “Our partnership with Freaks 4U Gaming allows us to effectively anchor health topics within the Prime League audience and promote awareness of a healthy lifestyle among esport players.”
