GRID has been announced as the official Data Technology Partner for the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC), currently underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The partnership will see the Berlin-based esports data platform provide the infrastructure to support the tournament’s expansive data ecosystem throughout the seven-week event, which concludes on 24 August.

As part of the agreement, GRID is supplying live, delayed, and historical in-game data feeds across five game titles, including Riot GamesLeague of Legends and VALORANT. The data will be used to power fan-facing products, content initiatives, and commercial activations.

Among the applications already live at the event is the official fantasy league, powered by GRID’s data. The feature allows fans to draft teams and predict outcomes, with a prize pool of up to $200,000 on offer.

“The Esports World Cup is a monumental step for our industry, bringing together an unprecedented number of competitive titles, global fans, and media partners,” said Charlie Hanley-Nickolls, Chief Procurement Officer at GRID. “An event of this scale calls for a reliable, fast, scalable data solution that our technology is well-equipped to deliver for EWC, its partners, and fans.”

GRID’s technology is widely used across the global esports ecosystem to power products in sectors such as broadcast enhancement, fan engagement, and notably, sports betting—a market that remains prohibited in Saudi Arabia. While there is no indication that betting is involved in this partnership, the inclusion of GRID’s infrastructure may signal a subtle shift or openness towards international standards in esports data handling.
