JioBLAST has announced BASF as the official “Powered By” sponsor for its India Rising: Road to EWC, an event that gives Indian esports players a chance to qualify for the Esports World Cup 2026, which will be held in Paris, France.

JioBLAST shared the news on LinkedIn, saying it was “proud to welcome BASF” and that both companies share a goal of “enabling progress and unlocking new possibilities.”

As a “Powered By” sponsor, BASF will provide important support to the JioBLAST India Rising event, potentially through funding, technology, equipment, or services, though the exact partnership terms have not been confirmed in the official announcement. In return, the sponsor’s name and logo will likely be displayed in event promotions, broadcasts, and marketing materials.

BASF is one of the world’s largest chemical companies and is not a name normally linked to esports or gaming. For BASF, this deal represents one of its most prominent direct entries into competitive gaming and esports, using it to connect with young people in India who are into esports and digital culture.

Global Esports Industry Week (GEIW) is happening 18-21 June 2026 alongside IEM Cologne. The main conference days are 18-19 June at Hyatt Regency. See full agenda and ticketing information on site!

While the esports move is relatively new for BASF, the company is no stranger to India. BASF has maintained operations in the country for over 130 years. Its Indian arm, BASF India Limited, in which BASF SE holds approximately 73.33% stake, is publicly listed and employs around 2,335 people. The company’s group sales in India stand at approximately €2.4 billion annually.

Apart from BASF, several existing Esports World Cup partners, including Qiddiya City, Aramco, Sony, Hilton, and Secretlab, are also part of the India Rising: Road to EWC global partners list.

JioBLAST itself is a joint venture between Reliance Jio, global esports operator BLAST, and RISE Worldwide. The organisation has been supporting India’s esports ecosystem through tournaments, creator content, and title partnerships, including collaborations with Supercell for Brawl Stars and events around BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India).
