JioBLAST has announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents, focusing on publisher partnerships, IP development, and live production.
The Indian esports venture, a joint venture between Reliance Jio, BLAST, and RISE Worldwide, has appointed Randall Fernandez and Dillip Mohanty, who both started in October, as it develops its events and broadcast capabilities.
The hirings follow the company’s recent announcement of a new creator-led event, the JioBLAST All Stars vs India, for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The new executives are tasked with leading initiatives in content creation and broadcast production.

Randall Fernandez has taken the role of Vice President – IP Development and Publisher Relations. His previous roles include Managing Director for India at Team Vitality and Country Manager for Sony PlayStation in India. Commenting on the new ecosystem at JioBLAST, Fernandez noted the company “unites Jio’s digital scale with BLAST’s production prowess, topped with RISE Worldwide’s sports & entertainment network.”
Dillip Mohanty has joined as Vice President – Live Production. His professional background includes senior roles in esports and production at One Digital Entertainment and Mobile Premier League (MPL). Mohanty stated he is “looking forward to building something special at the intersection of esports, entertainment, and broadcast innovation.”
The appointments point to JioBLAST’s ongoing efforts to build its operational capacity. The venture combines the reach of Reliance Jio, the esports production experience of BLAST, and the sports management background of RISE Worldwide. Bringing in executives with experience in international publishers and local live production is seen as a step towards establishing a calendar of original events.
