Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) once again demonstrated its ability to command global attention, as the 2025 Mid Season Cup (MSC) at the Esports World Cup (EWC) set new audience records and cemented its current status as the most-watched esports title in the world.

According to Esports Charts, MSC 2025 peaked at 3,067,670 concurrent viewers, surpassing all previous EWC records. The tournament registered over 50 million hours watched and an average concurrent audience nearing 600,000. This makes it not only the most popular EWC event to date but also the third most watched esports tournament globally in 2025 so far.

These figures underline MLBB’s unique position in the esports ecosystem. Despite not having the same scale of Western audience as other top titles, it continues to dominate global viewership charts, particularly in Southeast Asia. Matches involving established names such as Indonesia’s RRQ Hoshi consistently drive interest, often lifting audience numbers for their opponents as well.

However, the tournament’s final match also reflects efforts by the scene to engage fans from Western organisations. Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) secured the MSC title with a victory over defending champions Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG.OG), becoming the first team to win every major MLBB title. The win earned them $1 million from the tournament’s $3 million prize pool, one of the largest in MLBB history.

Parallel to MSC, the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) also delivered record numbers for a women’s esports event in 2025, with a peak viewership of 468,976 during Team Vitality’s, another Western organisation, Grand Final win. The competition expanded to 16 teams and 57 qualifying regions, highlighting MLBB’s efforts to grow expand even further in competitive gaming.

MOONTON Games, the title’s publisher, and the Esports World Cup Foundation have positioned MLBB as a flagship part of the EWC calendar, pairing competitive prestige with mass audience appeal.
