MOONTON Games has announced that Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) will host its first-ever global tournament, marking an initial foray into competitive gaming for the title.

The move comes as the company’s flagship title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), continues to be an audience success and a prominent part of contemporary Southeast Asian gaming culture.

Season 3 of MCGG, titled Cosmic Traders, will launch on 20 August 2025 and introduce new competitive features, including a regional leaderboard. The season will also draw on MLBB’s popularity, introducing crossover content from the game. According to GaoSkyhookChong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, gameplay updates to be released with the season aim to provide “deeper strategic choices” while connecting elements from both IPs.

MCGG’s new ranking system will allow players to progress from local to global leaderboards. The upcoming global tournament, open to players worldwide, will designed to be “inclusive and accessible”, with more details to be announced later.

Skyhook described the tournament as “a huge milestone” in building the game’s competitive ecosystem, adding that MOONTON’s focus is on supporting both player engagement and community growth.
