MOONTON Games has outlined two major developments for its Auto Chess title, Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG), with the announcement of its first offline world championship, the GO1 World Championship, and its inclusion in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games (SEA).

Magic Chess: Go Go was launched globally by MOONTON Games in May 2025, surpassing 30 million downloads within two weeks. The developer is also the publisher of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a title that has become one of the most-watched esports in the world, with particular strength in Southeast Asia.

The GO1 World Championship will be the game’s first offline global tournament, concluding on 25 January at the M7 Carnival in Jakarta. The event will feature 24 competitors from various global regions and a $25,000 prize pool. A primary qualification path for players is through the in-game MCGG Rising Stars (MRS) feature. The champion will be crowned at the same venue as the winner of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship.

In a separate development, MCGG will be featured as a demonstration sport at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, a biennial multi-sport event to be held in December 2025, marking the first inclusion of a mobile Auto Chess title in the event. A demonstration match with athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines is scheduled for 12 December.

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystems at MOONTON Games, stated: “We’re incredibly proud that MCGG has earned its place on a prestigious stage like the SEA Games. It’s amazing that our players will share the spotlight alongside some of the most competitive sporting athletes in the region.”

“Having MCGG featured at the SEA Games shows how innovation and accessibility can reshape the future of sports,” said Santi Lothong, President of Thailand Esports Federation. “What we love about its format is how its low barriers to entry gives new athletes a chance to represent their countries while uncovering emerging talents from our region. We’re proud that the 33rd SEA Games will lead this movement by bringing in MCGG alongside traditional sports.”
