Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced that it will become the top partner for CAPCOM CUP 13, the official world championship tournament for Street Fighter 6 by CAPCOM CO., LTD.
Suzuki said it is expanding its support for esports in the 2026 season. Along with CAPCOM CUP 13, the company will also sponsor major tournaments including Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2026, CAPCOM Pro Tour 2026 Premier, CAPCOM Pro Tour 2026 World Warrior Japan, and Street Fighter League: World Championship 2026.
CAPCOM CUP 13 and the Street Fighter League: World Championship 2026 are scheduled to take place at Ryogoku Kokugikan. Suzuki has been involved with Street Fighter esports tournaments since the previous fiscal year. The company sponsored events around the world and also displayed its special collaboration motorcycles, the “GSX-8R Tuned by JURI” and “Hayabusa Tuned by JURI.”
Suzuki also brought the collaboration into the game itself. Inside the “Battle Hub” mode of Street Fighter 6, players could see a model of the “GSX-8R Tuned by JURI.” The company said this helped introduce motorcycles and riding culture to people who may not normally have interest in motorcycles or had not seen the real bikes at events.
Takashi Ise, Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of Suzuki’s Motorcycle Business Division, said (translated from Japanese), “The esports industry continues to accelerate, showing unprecedented enthusiasm. At “CAPCOM CUP 12” in March of this year, we witnessed the moment when that energy reached its absolute peak at Ryogoku Kokugikan. In order to further amplify our resonance with this wonderful community and rise together to the next stage, we have decided to “strengthen” our partnership with Capcom Co., Ltd.”
Suzuki really started going hard on esports in 2025, especially in fighting games. Since then, they’ve been stacking up partnerships, including sponsoring the world’s biggest fighting game tournament series, Evolution Championship Series, and Japan’s biggest gaming event, Tokyo Game Show 2025.
