Rafael Queiroz, the General Manager of Team Liquid Brazil, announced his departure from the organisation following an eight-year stint in leadership.

Queiroz, who joined the organisation in 2017, was a primary figure in the company’s South American expansion, overseeing a staff growth from seven employees to more than 100. Queiroz confirmed on social media that his decision to step down was finalised in January, though he has yet to announce his next professional destination.

During his tenure, the organisation established the Alienware Training Facility (AWTF) in São Paulo, a 13-storey building currently recognised as the largest dedicated esports training centre globally. The facility in São Paulo, which includes athlete housing, training rooms, and a public retail space, has served as the operational hub for these teams and has been a central component of the organisation’s regional business model.

Under Queiroz’s management, Team Liquid Brazil maintained a consistent presence in several competitive titles, most notably in Rainbow Six Siege and VALORANT. The organisation’s Rainbow Six division recently underwent a significant structural and commercial change in March 2026, expanding its sponsorship deal with Dell to rebrand the team as Team Liquid Alienware.

The departure follows a period of notable competitive results for the organisation’s inclusive rosters. Team Liquid’s VALORANT Game Changers team secured the 2025 World Championship and, in April 2026, achieved qualification for VALORANT Challengers Brazil (VCB) Stage 2. This marked the first time an inclusive team has reached Brazil’s top-tier mixed-gender circuit through the open qualification process.

As Queiroz moves on, the organisation will now look to appoint a successor to manage its extensive Brazilian operations and maintain its current competitive standing in the region. According to information learned by The Esports Radar, the process is currently underway.
