Brazilian esports organisation paiN Gaming has promoted former Content Manager Bruno “Butcher” Pereira to the position of Content and Communications Manager.
A veteran journalist, ex-Riot Games and former Editor-in-Chief at Brazilian outlet Mais Esports who originally joined paiN as Content Manager in late 2025, Pereira steps into the expanded role at a crucial inflection point. In his broader position, he will oversee integrated media strategies, narrative positioning, and direct community communication, unifying paiN’s content production pipeline with its corporate messaging framework across competitive and lifestyle ecosystems.

Announced during a press conference organised by the club to present its renewed League of Legends roster, the executive move expands Pereira’s operational oversight to encompass both brand storytelling and Public Relations as paiN seeks to stabilise its media presence.
Pereira’s promotion arrives following the most turbulent period in paiN Gaming’s 15-year history. In March 2026, long-standing CEO Thomas Hamence officially resigned following investigative reports examining the administration’s handling of sexual abuse allegations involving League of Legends player Alexandre “TitaN” Lima.
The scandal ignited immediate backlash across social media, leading several organised fan groups to formally sever ties with the organisation. This internal crisis directly intersected with a historic competitive breakdown on the Rift, where paiN endured its worst-ever split, recording just a single match victory.

To maintain brand momentum and financial stability outside traditional MOBA ecosystems, paiN has leaned heavily on alternative competitive avenues—most notably Gerard Piqué’s seven-a-side football circuit, the Kings League. Competing as Desimpain through a co-branded venture with popular sports and media channel Desimpedidos, the team won the domestic Brazilian tournament, securing qualification for the upcoming international edition of the competition. However, this was not sufficient to win the crowd, as the fanbase remains calling for further leadership changes within the organisation on social media.
As Pereira steps into the dual content and communications role, rebuilding trust with a fragmented fan base while supporting a multi-front competitive strategy arguably stands as his most demanding operational test to date.
