Esports organisation G2 Esports and PUBG Mobile, published by Tencent Games, have unveiled the G2 x PUBG Mobile: Community Challenge, an amateur tournament structured to onboard G2’s core Counter-Strike audience into the mobile gaming ecosystem.

Scheduled for 24–25 October 2026, the activation revolves around ‘PMG2’, a custom PUBG Mobile map directly inspired by Counter-Strike’s iconic Dust II map. By integrating classic 5v5 bomb-defusal mechanics into a mobile setting, the initiative aims to create a beginner-friendly bridge for Western PC gaming enthusiasts.

The community tournament represents the latest operational phase of a strategic partnership established in mid-2026 between G2 Esports and PUBG Mobile Esports. The primary commercial objective of the alliance is to bridge the historical engagement gap between Western PC-dominated markets and the massive mobile esports ecosystems established across Asia. G2’s internal white-label agency, 62, is managing end-to-end tournament operations, creator campaigns, and media buying for the event.

According to official information provided to The Esports Radar, G2 and PUBG Mobile have set an initial target of 200 player registrations across Western Europe to evaluate audience conversion. Beyond live competition, the campaign will generate dedicated recap content to be broadcast via Western European game ambassador JanickaGaming, alongside joint promotional pushes across both brands’ media channels.

Aiming to maintain a fair competitive environment for new participants, registration is strictly restricted to amateur players aged 16 and older based in Western Europe. Professional and semi-professional competitors, alongside any players who participated in the 2026 PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) Western Europe Group Stage, are explicitly excluded from entry.

Player registration remains open through Friday, 23 October 2026, via G2’s official Discord server, with eligible teams consisting of four to five active players and one substitute. The tournament begins on Saturday, 24 October, with two 32-team qualifier brackets operating under a best-of-one single-elimination format. The top four advancing teams will compete in the Sunday, 25 October Finals stage, featuring best-of-three semi-finals and grand finals to award commercial gift cards and official G2 merchandise.
